About the Role:

We are now seeking a Veterinary Surgeon (VS), the role is responsible for the delivery of an efficient, professional and caring service to PDSA clients, providing a high standard of customer service and clinical care whilst also promoting pet wellbeing and delivering preventive services.

Aberdeen is PDSA's most northern Pet Hospital , located in the city centre . PDSA has served the local area for over 60 years offering first opinion veterinary treatment and preventive services. The hospital building is well equipped and has been recently refurbished to provide a new dispensary and more consulting space allowing us to meet the demands of this busy small practice. The caseload is very varied.

We are a friendly welcoming team; CPD is encouraged and self development encouraged with the help of an experienced team of 4 vets, 3 RVNs and 3 VCAs. Although a small hospital, we pack a lot into a small space - 4 consulting rooms, theatre , prep area, radiography room with ultrasonography, separate dog and cat kennelling.

We aim to promote a healthy life for all our pets by preventing, educating and treating sick and injured animals with passion and compassion.
TOOH is fully outsourced ; clinical staff typically work 1 Saturday morning in 4 with time off in lieu the next week.

Aberdeen has easy access to the beach and Cairngorms . There is an airport which links to major UK cities - and Europe.

About You:

The successful candidate will be an RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon and responsible for updating their knowledge by attending regular CPD training. You will be involved in all aspects of clinical governance at the Pet Hospital, responsible for managing cases cost-effectively, encouraging financial contributions from clients, and making sure that PDSA resources are used appropriately.
