Description

A professional dog grooming boutique is looking for an experienced full-time or part-time groomer to join our friendly, growing team. We will also consider applications for those wanting to work on a self-employed/freelance basis. Full-time will be 5 days a week and the part-time role is 2 to 3 days a week depending on availability.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves working with dogs to take on a new, fun challenge and join a professional, growing business.

We offer a great working environment in the heart of Thornbury. Starting salary of £8.00 an hour with opportunities to work towards bonuses and pay rise, work place pension and 28 days paid holiday a year with the chance to work towards bonuses.

Initially, you will work within a three-person team within the salon, consisting of another full-time groomer and one bather. You may work alternate days to other employees and subsequently it is important to be confident to also work alone. You will also be responsible for takings bookings, ensuring you know what the customer wants and greeting customers.

1 year prior experience as a dog groomer is preferred. Qualification is preferred but not a necessity.

You must be happy to work both independently and be a team player, love working with animals, create a good rapport with customers, handle bookings and be good at communicating.

We may look to consider a pay rise if you show yourself to be a hardworking and reliable employee who gains repeat business.

Qualifications and Skills
You must be confident to groom all dog breeds from start to finish, including bathing on occasion.
Be able to evidence provision of good customer service.
Confident to work independently, some days being the only one within the salon.
Good communication and organisation skills.

Job Roles and Responsibilities
Professional grooming with all dog breeds.
Take bookings and greet customers in a friendly and approachable manner.
Record relevant pet information.
Work with other groomers and bathers as well as on your own.
Take payments securely.

Dog Grooming: 1 year (Preferred)
