About the Role:

To provide assistance to Veterinary Surgeons in the examination and treatment of animals attending the Pet Hospital and to carry out all reasonable instructions from them to the best of their ability. Apprentice Veterinary Nurses can only undertake duties as outlined in Schedule 3 of the Veterinary Surgeons Act under supervision.

About you:

As an Apprentice Veterinary Nurse (AVN) you will provide a high standard of customer service and clinical care while promoting pet well being and supporting Veterinary Surgeons to deliver preventive services and to treat sick and injured pets of eligible clients. You will study Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing. To be eligible to complete the qualification you will need to have 5 GCSEs at grade C or above including English Language and two passes in a physical or biological science (such as Physics, Chemistry or Biology) and mathematics. If you are invited to interview you will be require to bring copies of all your qualifications held.

Working as part of a team that supports in theatre, provides inpatient care and supports consultations, admissions and discharges, you will also be involved in dispensing medication, encouraging financial contributions from clients and maintaining the hygiene and cleanliness of the Pet hospital and equipment.
